Cosimo Magazzino is a Full Professor of Political Economy at the Department of Department of Management, Finance and Technology at LUM University “Giuseppe Degennaro”. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and his Master’s degree in Public Policies from Roma Tre University, both with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude, and his Ph.D. in Political Science, economic-statistical area, in 2009. He has obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification for Full Professor in Economics, Economic Policy, Public Economics and Applied Economics. His scientific activity mainly focuses on economic policy, energy and environmental economics, economic growth, sustainability, public finance, applied econometrics, machine learning and empirical analysis of economic systems. He is the author of numerous publications in international journals, including Energy Economics, Journal of Policy Modeling, Empirical Economics, Environmental Impact Assessment Review, Scientific Reports, Ecological Indicators, Journal of Environmental Management, Environmental Research Letters and Journal of Cleaner Production. He has taught at Roma Tre University, LUM “Giuseppe Degennaro”, Sapienza University of Rome, Link Campus University, UNINT, Niccolò Cusano University and the University of Bari “Aldo Moro”, offering courses in economic policy, econometrics, environmental and energy economics, microeconomics, international economics and quantitative methods. He is a member of doctoral boards and has supervised and assessed doctoral theses. He has held Visiting Professor positions at universities and research centres in Germany, Romania, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Libya and Tunisia. He has also carried out consultancy and research assignments for public and private institutions, including the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Acquirente Unico S.p.A. and Servizi Fondo Bombole e Metano S.p.A.
